Fall family portrait session
Fall and family photos are a great combination. But sometimes you're so busy you don't even have time to book a photo shoot before the leaves vanish.
Fortunately, the Smith family squeaked in a session just before the last of the Hudson Valley's famous foliage fell to the ground.
To be honest, the kids were not thrilled about a family portrait session, and mom was worried because her son refuses to smile in photographs, including his school picture this year. I don't believe in forcing kids to smile or in photo sessions that make kids miserable. Within five minutes of taking pictures, the children found out that getting their pictures taken wasn't so bad. And the son, yup, he smiled all on his own.
The Smith loved the combination of more traditional posed portraits with candid expressions of fondness and fun. The siblings wrestled like puppies - and then hugged. Both are true reflections of who they are at this age. I enjoyed capturing both sides of this beautiful, happy and very real family.
