For being in a region that's full of historic mansions and buildings, Mohonk Mountain House stands out from all the rest. Mohonk is a Victorian-era resort, a National Historic Landmark and a 250 room hotel. Mohonk offers no less than six possible reception venues hosting anywhere from 40 to 200 guests and two outdoor and one indoor ceremony locations. Guests can hike, swim and enjoy afternoon tea.

Storm King is unusual enough on its own - a 500-acre outdoor sculpture park - but just imagine a wedding here. If you want to blow everybody's socks off with your wedding arbor, consider getting married under one of Storm King's giant sculpture. Hosting an event will require a membership level between $1,250 and $10,000, depending on the size and timing of the event. Then there's an additional site fee between $5,000 and $10,000. Storm King has one indoor and three outdoor locations and can accommodate between 10 and 250 guests. You are required to use Storm King's preferred caterer, but all other vendors are your choice.

There are lots of farm wedding venues in the Hudson Valley but not too many that grow trees. The tree farm has a concrete-slab pavilion and a large party tent adjacent to it that covers a 30′ x 40′ bluestone patio. The venue has two bathrooms as well as a small kitchen with a sink and electric stove. The venue space has a fire pit, electricity, hot and cold water, lighting, optional AC and provides chairs and tables for up to 180 guests.

The Dramatic Hall is the third floor of the renovated Peeksville Central Market and has been restored to its 1870s theater glory with wrought-iron railings, dramatic staircases and a glam stage. The hall can accommodate about 150 guests.

You might think a winery is not so unique. But what makes Brotherhood Winery one of a kind? It's the oldest winery in America, and the ancient stone shell of its Grand Salon room gives this venue a unique vibe. You can also rent the largest underground wine cellar in the country. The site fee will run about $6,000, depending on the season and room, and includes chairs and tables.

I live just up the street from this unique venue and was delighted to see the restoration of a dilapidated greenhouse into a stylish wedding and event venue by the owners of Audrey's Farmhouse bed and breakfast across the street.

The Greenhouses can accommodate around 200 guests, and the venue fee of $8,000 to $13,000 includes the 3,000-square-foot greenhouse and 2,000-square-foot barn and everything you could think of from linen napkins to bentwood chairs The catering fee is $145 per person. The property can accommodate up to 42 overnight guests in its various guest rooms and cottage.

Just imagine telling your grandma that you're having your wedding in a garage. But what a garage. The Senate Garage was built in 1921 for, yes, the Senate, and you get the historic grounds of the Senate House for outdoor ceremonies. The garage is 7,500 square feet and includes an industrial catering kitchen, air-conditioning and heat and a capacity for up to 260 guests. Weddings at Senate Garage start at $36,000 for 150 guests. This includes venue fee, food, open bar, staff, rentals and more. There is an additional fee to use the outside grounds.

The Hutton Brickyards isn't the only industrial space in the Hudson Valley but it's unique for its sheer size - 40,000 square feet of industrial space. The Brickyards includes four event spaces, and you can host a sit-down dinner wedding for 600 of your closest friends. And it offers a "glamping" campsite for your guests. Venue rental starts at about $4,500 for private events.

Hudson River Cruises can accommodate 100 to 175 guests, and the venue works with an in-house bar service and a number of local caterers. The venue rental is about $3,000. Tables and chairs are also available for rent.
