Brittany and Freddy's autumn equestrian wedding
Brittany and Freddy are married thanks to wedding photography. It's not often that a wedding photographer gets to write something so enormously flattering about their own industry in a blog post, although in this case it was not my photography that brought them together, it was Brittany's.
Yes, Brittany is a wedding photographer, which is also enormously flattering since she picked Samantha Christensen Photography, even booking us just slightly before she was officially engaged and flying us out from New York to Nebraska to cover the wedding.
But, back to when Brittany met Freddy. They knew each other slightly for about eight years but did not actually talk until Brittany went to Freddy's town of Sioux City, Iowa to sign a wedding photographer contract. They got to meet in a smaller group and it immediately felt right. A little over a year later Freddy proposed at the water's edge in front of Sioux Falls.
They planned a wedding that was both modern and rustic and included Brittany's beloved horse Chance. Brittany and Chance have known each other since one was a colt and one was a tot. After the ceremony, Brittany, Freddy and Chance took a stroll through the grass fields of Nebraska, and I fainted from joy at the opportunity to photograph a bride on horseback.
Brittany's creativity was also a big part of this wedding since she designed her own bouquets and table decor, carefully nurturing dozens of succulents that became the centerpieces. She and her family also put together some 200 succulent wedding favors, one of which is living in New York in a pot on my coffee table.
Quiet Freddy brought the emotion, welling up with tears at the sight of his bride more than once. Not all of Freddy's biological family chose to show up for his wedding day but his stepfamily and found family did, which also brought tears. It's obvious that Brittany and Freddy are both well loved by friends and family.
